Any minute now (or any day?) the first book of the Sage Seed Chronicles (The Unraveling) will be available as an e-book from Red Willow Digital Press!!  Currently there are four completed in the series.  It’s sequel is “Reweaving”. Also in the series are: “The Founders” and “Rings of Illness”. A fifth book is underway.

The Unraveling

Erin’s parents have been murdered. Breaking through her grief is the awareness of unusual abilities that she has never had before. She can now communicate with animals! What grips her attention, though, is the malevolent energy she can sense seeking her to kill her also! As she frantically eludes the killer she concentrates on the deadly questions she has to solve: Who murdered her parents, why and why are they trying to kill her too. So focused is she that the quakes and storms don’t at first elicit any more than a “Oh Scrum!” Erin doesn’t realize until much later that the quakes are related to the deaths and things are getting worse as more murders occur!  The fabric of her world is literally unraveling!

Erin is a young woman who faces the danger she is in, on her own terms. She cuts off her hair and hides herself, in plain sight, as a scruffy boy, taking a job on the guild caravan as it winds through the realm. Her wild companions, a falcon, a skunk and an owl are indispensable on her quest, as is Lor, the glow stone guild member. He is also one of the few, like Erin, who carry the sage seed and has secret unique talents.

 The Reweaving

Before the three murderers were caught they set some things in motion that Erin and the other sages may not be able to rectify. There are just too few sages alive to stabilize the planet and it is beginning it’s slide back to a primordial state! Also the leader of the killers planted the thought amongst the people that “witches” were the cause of the quakes and bad weather so attacks continue. There is very little time to find a solution, if there is any!

This is the prequel to The Sage Seed Chronicles. How was the planet Ose settled? The story starts fifty years after “Founding”. It has been a very busy half century as the settlers establish cities and a society. They didn’t count on the small asteroid that struck and threw them into a ‘nuclear winter’ weather pattern. Hardship prevails and the fledgling society goes into survival mode which erodes the very foundation of their culture! It is here where the sages first learn how they can pull together to help their world.

Rings of Illness

A highly contagious and deadly disease sweeps through the Sawblen Province. The source and the cure are unknown! Complicating the dire situation is a dangerous experimentation with drugs by a would-be healer. Taking advantage of the distraction of the officials, a counterfeiter gets creative with credentials and money. The multiple crises strain the sage population and the Great One’s council.  But the original natives of the planet have information to impart… if the sages can hear them!
